Traveling the Mother Road to help find forever Mothers and Fathers for homeless dogs and cats, FIDO Friendly magazine is about to embark on its eighth annual Get Your Licks on Route 66 pet adoption tour.

An event that has been a driving force in promoting the option of pet adoption, over the past seven years the cross-country tour along America's most iconic road has helped to put more than 5,000 companion animals in need on the road to a happy future with loving pet parents.

Getting animal lovers revved up about the tour, Brandon McMillan– the Emmy Award-winning host of the CBS Saturday morning series Lucky Dog- has stepped into the role of the event's spokesperson for the second year. On September 10th fans can meet McMillan as the celebrity dog trainer kicks off the 2016 Get Your Licks on Route 66 tour at LA Animal Services in Los Angeles.

As the tour bus wheels traverse the road from Los Angeles to Chicago, when the bus stops at each spot along the way the giant spinning wheel will start to spin, giving attendees who make a donation an opportunity to win some fun pet-themed prizes, with the participating shelter receiving all of the proceeds.
