Cosplay has become far more than just a hobby for pop-culture fans who attend comic book conventions to indulge in a few times a year. In an industry that’s become more and more friendly for geeks and gamers to share and express their love of movies, TV, games and comics through costume building, innovation and everyday fashion, today’s cosplayers range from pros who spend thousands of dollars on screen-accurate creations to fans who enjoy cosplaying casually.

Of course, for pet lovers whose dedication to their critter companions is an important part of their lives, cosplay is a perfect way to share your fan enthusiasm with your pup; in fact, some of the most-loved cosplayers on the internet have been of the canine variety! Ollie, pictured above, pretty much hangs out at Loot Crate headquarters in L.A. wearing his Pokémon Pikachu hoodie five days a week! Here are some popular Internet doggie cosplay favorites:

chubs-the-wampug

Chubbs the Wampug is a fourteen-year-old female pug hailing from Tuscon, Arizona, who first came to fame showing off a pretty darn accurate cosplay of the Wampa (the ice creature from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back). Since then, Chubbs’ Star Wars-loving humans have created more clever cosplays for her, including recent The Force Awakens villain Kylo Ren! Known simply as “S” and “H”, this pair of adorable Shiba Inus hail from Yokohama, Japan and their human, “C_Suzuki” actively shares their cosplay antics on Twitter. Their costumed adventures are wide-ranging beyond just geeky themes, but we’ve got to say… their prequel to Batman vs. Superman is pretty darn adorable. Follow them at https://twitter.com/C_S0325

They don’t call him the Celebrity Dachshund for nothing: Crusoe, a miniature black and tan dachshund, stars in videos on his own YouTube channel and even has his own book! A costuming pup for some time now, Crusoe’s begun breaking into pop culture cosplay; his Minions video is something to see, for sure. Check out more from Crusoe at celebritydachshund.com
