Why Sherlock hasn’t found a pet parent yet is a mystery. A 70-pound, 6- or 7-year-old Bluetick Coonhound mix who loves to play fetch, snooze in the sun and look for clues that will lead him to dog treats, it has been deduced by his fosters that Sherlock is much more social than his notable namesake. Able to make friends with fellow dogs and having no problems with cats when they are introduced, it must be noted that Sherlock can be food possessive.
Testing positive for heartworms upon his arrival at the Riley County Humane Society, his treatment is now complete. Neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations, the game is on to find Sherlock a forever family to love!
Sherlock is just one of the many dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, and rabbits currently in the care of Riley County Humane Society. The Manhattan, Kansas-based non-profit organization has helped to save the lives of companion animals since its start in 1975.
