This post and my attendance at Better with Pets were sponsored by Purina. As always, all opinions and statements are entirely my own, and I only share information that I believe will be helpful to our readers…who all know that life is Better with Pets!

In yesterday’s post about the third annual Better with Pets summit in New York, I shared with you the morning sessions–excellent panels about pet emotional wellness.

After a break for lunch, we moved to the other half of the Brooklyn Expo Center to check out the interactive exhibits:

The exhibits circled a center agility area with a variety of dog breeds:

Both dogs and cats were well represented in the exhibits such as one that showcased ideas for healthy environments:

Nearby, an exhibit with service dogs looked at the important role these dogs play in the lives of veterans. One dog demonstrated how he has been trained to wake up a person with PTSD suffering from nightmares:

I loved the exhibit about creating interactive toys for your pets, ones that are easy and inexpensive to make–but perhaps my favorite exhibit was the “cat cafe” set up in one section of the hall:

This interactive area invited everyone to sit and meet the cats, who varied from a Havana Brown to a LOT of black kittens who looked just like our Inca:

Although it was hard to tear myself away from a roomful of super cute cats, the end of the day soon drew near. The closing speaker was Carole Radziwill, author and one of the stars of “The Real Housewives of New York.” She spoke about her love of pets; while she was speaking, a small dog sitting next to me was kissing me and, soon, cuddling up with my tote bag:

Just a few moments later, that cutie was called up to the stage…that’s Baby, Radziwill’s Goldendoodle puppy:
